Routine Hygiene Appointments
We will not be able to provide routine hygiene appointments for most of our patients anymore.
Changes to Hygiene Services
- We do not employ hygienists anymore
- No more prophy appointments
- No more perio maintenance appointments
- We recommend you do routine cleanings at Dr. Charles Fields’ office from this point forward, but then return to us for all your family restorative needs

Limited Ultrasonic Cleaning Procedures Available
We offer only the following ultrasonic cleaning procedures at RTCD and RFDC moving forward:
- FMD, D4346, SRP, Flap SRP
- FMD and D4346 will only be allowed in association with a comprehensive exam
- After we do D4346 or FMD for you, we will offer surgical procedures for your restorative needs and give referral to Dr. Charles Fields for all future routine cleaning appointments
Extremely Limited Hygiene Appointments
- We will offer hygiene appointments to patients on an extremely limited basis, as much as our schedule permits with 4 associate dentists and zero hygienists
- We can only offer cleanings now during appointments for comprehensive exam, or restorative appointments such as fillings or root canals
Why These Changes Occurred
Due to the government shutdown, we had to layoff 17 employees including 6 hygienists.
We did this out of necessity because of the government shutdown and financial disruption that was not conducive with our previous business structure employing 30 full-time employees. We were forced to immediately restructure the businesses to try and save the companies. This resulted in laying off 17 employees and restructuring to concentrate on the surgical procedures that are the source of Dr. Gholamali Miamee’s passion for dentistry.
Our New Focus: Restorative and Surgical Dentistry
We are now concentrating on complicated surgical procedures including:
- Fillings
- Crowns
- Root canals
- Extractions
- Wisdom teeth extractions
- Implants
- Dentures
- Bridges
- Implant supported bridges and dentures
- Bone grafting
- Orthodontics with Invisalign
- Cosmetic veneers
- Deep cleanings
What This Means for You
- Our office and doctors are now even more fine-tuned for surgical procedures, making us a wise choice for your family’s surgical dental procedures
- We no longer goof around with trying to squeeze in cleanings and polishing into our busy schedules
- Now we concentrate exclusively on being the best general dentists we can be for surgical dental procedures
- We have eliminated the hygiene department, but we have fine-tuned the restorative department
- We now LIMIT OUR PRACTICE TO RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY PROCEDURES
Our Recommendations
- Go to Dr. Charles Fields (periodontist) for routine cleanings and return to us for all restorative needs
- Some patients may choose to go to another general dentist’s office for cleanings and then return to us for all restorative needs. Dr. Lana Soules in Herndon is an excellent choice for this
